Commonly Treated Conditions

• Barrett’s esophagus, a condition caused by chronic inflammation of the esophagus
• Celiac disease, in which the body cannot tolerate gluten
• Colorectal cancer, the third most common cancer among U.S. adults
• Diverticulitis, infection of bulges in the intestines (diverticula) that can lead to intense pain
• Gallbladder disease, swelling and inflammation of the gallbladder
• Gastroesophageal reflux disease, in which stomach acid and contents flow backward into the esophagus
• GI cancers, which include colorectal cancer as well as cancers of the esophagus, pancreas and liver
• Hiatal hernia, in which the upper part of the stomach pushes through an opening in the diaphragm
• Inflammatory bowel disease, which includes Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, conditions where inflammation affects some or all of the digestive tract
• Liver disease, which can be caused by a number of factors, ranging from viruses to metabolic diseases to alcohol
• Pancreatitis, an inflammatory condition that can lead to pain and a number of unpleasant symptoms
• Peptic ulcer disease, painful sores that develop in the stomach and/or small intestine
