Everything You Need to Conquer Cancer
Nationally Recognized Care
Both of our cancer centers have earned full accreditation with special commendation from the Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons. This elite distinction is awarded to only those facilities who deliver the very best in cancer diagnosis, treatment and support. Wherever you are on the journey, you can expect the highest national standards of care, right here at home.
A Dedicated, Multi-skilled Team
Bringing our experts together in the same building means more personalized and coordinated care, with our dedicated cancer team by your side. That includes some of the region’s leading medical and radiation oncologists, many who’ve been longtime fixtures in our community and are known as much for their compassion as for their skill in fighting cancer. These specialists work closely with surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, certified nurses, dietitians, physical therapists, social workers and others to ensure you receive the best possible care.
Prevention and Early Detection
Your best defenses against cancer are prevention and early detection, which allow for more treatment options and better outcomes. We provide the latest cancer screenings, including all-digital and 3D mammography, low-dose CT lung cancer screening, colonoscopy and more to detect even the smallest of tumors. Advanced imaging services are also conveniently available on-site for a rapid diagnosis that will put you on the fast track to treatment, if needed.
Cancer Diagnosis
If your cancer screening produces results that suggest cancer, your physician needs to find out if the suspicious results are due to cancer or something else. Additional lab tests, imaging scans or other tests or procedures, such as a biopsy, may be required to determine if you actually do have cancer.
Advanced Treatments and Therapies
At our cancer centers, we provide the same technology found at major cancer institutes. In Beaufort, our latest addition is the TruBeam linear accelerator, which delivers powerful and precise radiation therapy directly to the tumor, while minimizing side effects and exposure to surrounding healthy tissue.
Should you need surgery, we treat several cancers using the da Vinci® Robotic Surgical System, the most minimally invasive technology available today. Fewer incisions often means significantly less pain, faster recovery and quicker return to your life.
Powerful Partnership
We work in conjunction with MUSC Health, one of the region’s leading academic medical centers, to coordinate additional treatments when necessary. This gives the Lowcountry communities we serve direct access to renowned cancer subspecialists, plus leading-edge cancer clinical trials featuring new treatments, medications and devices before they become widely available.
Support Throughout Treatment and Beyond
At Beaufort Memorial, we treat the whole person — physically, emotionally and spiritually — not just the disease. You have your very own nurse navigator and social worker to personally guide you every step of the way.
You and your family will also have access to:
- Cancer rehabilitation programs and lymphedema specialists
