Expanding Health Care Access
Across the Lowcountry

Russell Baxley, President and CEO of Beaufort Memorial Hospital

The Bluffton area, and the Lowcountry as a region, is one of the fastest growing in the nation. With that growth comes more need for innovative health care solutions and improved access to these services.

Currently, more than 20% of our patients live south of the Broad River and travel to Beaufort to receive their health care from Beaufort Memorial. We are committed to making the high-quality of care they've come to depend on more convenient, while also looking to serve future residents of the area. We are responding strategically by breaking ground on new construction, recruiting primary care providers, pioneering cutting-edge technology and attracting high-caliber specialists to serve the people of Beaufort and Jasper counties and the surrounding areas.

Forward and upward momentum remains strong as the current framework of Beaufort Memorial continues a tradition engrained in Beaufort County's history for 80 years. From a one-story brick building with just 25 beds and four physicians in 1944 to becoming the largest hospital system between Savannah and Charleston with nearly a dozen facilities and more than 150 practicing providers, the mission of Beaufort Memorial has been and will continue to be caring for the local community.
