A certified family nurse practitioner, Carri Knapp brings widely ranging experience in the specialties of critical care and palliative care nursing to Beaufort Memorial Express Care & Occupation Health.

Areas of Expertise

• Urgent care - Treatment of medical conditions that are not immediately life- or limb-threatening, but are serious enough to require care within 24 hours.
• Critical care – Highly specialized care, usually in an intensive care unit, for patients with the most severe illnesses or injuries.
• Respiratory conditions – Disorders of the respiratory system, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and tuberculosis.
• Gastrointestinal conditions – Disorders of the digestive tract, such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), gastroesophageal disease (GERD) and celiac disease.

Video Visits

Mrs. Knapp offers virtual urgent care visits as well as scheduled video visits for patients needing medication checks, standard chronic illness management, sick visits and follow-up care for certain conditions. If interested, ask about the option when scheduling.

Background

Before joining the Express Care practice, Mrs. Knapp worked as a staff nurse in the Beaufort Memorial Hospital intensive care unit (ICU) from 2017 to 2021 and most recently for SC House Calls as an advanced practice nurse providing inpatient palliative care at the hospital.

Both natives of Western New York, she and her husband, Ken, who also is a nurse, have two daughters. The Knapp family loves spending time together outdoors, especially at the beach.
