About Dr. Vandit Sardana

At the Orthopaedic Specialists practice, which is renowned for hip and knee replacement, Dr. Vandit Sardana works with patients to assess, preserve and restore joint function, providing care based on best and current evidence in the field of orthopedics. He is proficient in leading edge surgical techniques and precision fitting of joint implants as well as other orthopedic procedures.
Areas of Expertise
- Joint Preservation – Noninvasive procedures, like injections, can be used to preserve a deteriorating joint to delay or avoid joint replacement surgery.
- Joint Pain Management – An individualized treatment plan my incorporate various therapies and procedures to help resolve joint pain including icing, anti-inflammatory medications, injections, physical therapy/exercise, weight loss and supportive aids.
- Hip Replacement – If other treatments do not help, surgery may be needed to replace the hip’s ball and socket joint.
- Knee Replacement – When conservative measures no longer ease joint pain, replacement of the knee joint may be recommended.
- Adult Reconstructive Orthopedics – Minimally invasive techniques including Mako robotic-arm-assisted arthroplasty are used for hip and knee replacement and artificial joint revision surgeries.

Background
Dr. Vandit Sardana, a highly skilled, board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in joint replacement and preservation, came to Beaufort Memorial Orthopaedic Specialists in September 2018 from fellowship training in joint replacement. His fellowship training included Mako Robotic Arm-Assisted Joint Replacements.
A gifted student, the Canadian native received an impressive array of academic scholarships and awards at every level of his training. During his residency, he was employed as a clinical skills preceptor for first-year medical students. He has worked on broadly ranging orthopedic research projects and volunteered extensively for the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation as well.
Dr. Sardana lives in Beaufort County with his wife, Joanna, and their children. In addition to spending time with his family, he enjoys cycling, table tennis, tennis, golfing and reading.
