About Dr. Eve Ashby
“I believe in treating the ‘whole woman’ from fertility to menopause. Through my practice, I hope to educate all women about the choices they make about their bodies so that they will feel empowered, confident and healthy.”
Joining Beaufort Memorial Lowcountry Medical Group as a gynecologist in 2000, Dr. Eve Ashby is dedicated to the comprehensive care of her patients at all stages of life.
Her professional interests include family planning, adolescent care, menopause and bioidentical hormones. Because the field of hormone replacement therapy has been controversial, with varying recommendations often leading to confusion and indecision, Dr. Ashby has a special interest in helping her patients determine a course of action right for them.
Areas of Expertise
- Perimenopause and Menopause Management - The treatment of menopause and perimenopause with hormone and non-hormone therapies, education and lifestyle changes.
- Hormone Replacement Therapy - A treatment of menopause symptoms such as vaginal dryness, hot flashes, mood swings and urinary incontinence.
- Adolescent Medicine - A branch of medicine centered on the diagnosis, treatment and management of gynecological conditions in children and adolescent patients.
- Contraception - Any medicine, device or method used to prevent pregnancy, including birth control pills, intrauterine devices (IUD) and condoms.
- Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening - Screening for cancer through a breast or cervical examination.
Background
Dr. Ashby currently serves as Assistant Professor at A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona, where she enjoys teaching medical students during their clinical rotations.
