Mr. James Benn, a board-certified nurse practitioner, sees patients in the Beaufort Memorial Mental Health Unit.
Mr. Benn brings over 35 years of nursing experience to Beaufort Memorial, which he first joined in 2014 as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.
Experienced in the diagnosis of a range of psychiatric conditions, he effectively uses supportive psychotherapy and medication in treatment.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, Mr. Benn began his nursing career in Chesapeake, Virginia, then moved to the Lowcountry in 1986 to take a job at BMH. He has also been an emergency and critical care nurse and worked as a telemedicine mental health nurse practitioner in Arizona.
Mr. Benn accepts patients by referral from physicians and counselors only.
