About Ms. Haille Riddle
“Too often people with mental health issues feel both ashamed and stigmatized. I do my best to ensure that my patients feel comfortable talking to me, knowing they can share their thoughts and feelings without judgement.”
A board-certified nurse practitioner, Haille Riddle is dedicated to the diagnosis of psychiatric conditions in adults and the use of supportive psychotherapy and other nonpharmacological and pharmacological therapies to treat those conditions. Interested in contributing to her patients’ overall well-being, she includes resources—such as yoga and meditation—in her recommendations. Ms. Riddle is experienced in the management of altered mental state related to medical diagnosis, dementia with behavioral disturbance, psychosis, bipolar disorder and suicidal ideation.
Areas of Expertise
- Geriatric Mental Health – Working with seniors experiencing mental and emotional disorders such as affective and anxiety disorders, dementia and delirium, in addition to sleep and behavioral disorders, cognitive deterioration or confusion states that result from physical disorders.
- Anxiety – A mood disorder in which feelings of intense uneasiness, apprehension and sometimes panic attacks occur; often accompanied by physical symptoms like rapid breathing and heart rate.
- Depression – A mood disorder characterized by persistent sadness and loss of interest in activities formerly enjoyed that typically has physical as well as psychological symptoms, including insomnia.
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder – A condition triggered by experiencing or witnessing a terrifying event that includes flashbacks, nightmares and intense anxiety.
- Eating Disorders – A range of psychological conditions that result in unhealthy eating habits and often begin with an obsession with food, body weight or shape.

Background
Before joining Beaufort Memorial Sea Island Psychiatry in 2022, the Ohio native, who grew up in Akron, served for two years as a registered nurse at the Center for Geriatric Psychiatry at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. There she provided comprehensive care to patients over 65 in acute psychiatric crisis with concurrent medical diagnoses. She feels a particular bond with the older patient. Earlier, she was for two years a colorectal surgery patient care nurse assistant at Cleveland Clinic.
After years in the chilly Midwest, Ms. Riddle enjoys the Lowcountry’s warm days and sunshine. An avid baker—cupcakes and birthday cakes are her specialties—she’s proficient in crafts of all kinds as well.

To augment mental health services for residents of Beaufort County and beyond, Beaufort Memorial has brought two new board-certified providers to Beaufort Memorial Sea Island Psychiatry. Dr. Scott Walmer, a psychiatrist, and Haille Riddle, a nurse practitioner, see patients by appointment at the practice location in the Beaufort Medical Plaza on the main hospital campus, located at 989 Ribaut Road, Suite 330.
