About Dr. Heidi Harrington

Board certified and fellowship trained, Heidi Harrington, M.D., brings two decades of experience in cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery to Beaufort Memorial Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics. She and her team specialize in a comprehensive array of services for the face, breasts, and body including cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries, body contouring, and aesthetic services.
Areas of Expertise
- Breast Reconstruction Surgery – A procedure to recreate the shape of a breast, usually conducted after a mastectomy.
- Cosmetic Breast Surgery – A variety of procedures to alter or improve the appearance of the breasts.
- Body Contouring Surgery – A reconstructive surgery that aims to improve the shape of the body by removing excess fat and/or skin.
- Post-Skin-Cancer Reconstruction Surgery – A procedure to repair disfigurement and improve function after skin cancer removal, usually conducted after Mohs surgery.
- Non-Invasive Medical Aesthetics – Various cosmetic procedures that aim to improve appearance without invasive surgical procedures.

Background
Dr. Harrington grew up on a horse farm in rural New Jersey and thought she was destined to become a veterinarian. But after undergoing a sports injury related orthopedic surgery as a teenager, she became intrigued by surgery.
While in medical school in Philadelphia, she says "it became clear that plastic surgery was my wheelhouse because it encompassed functional medicine and creativity" while satisfying her detail-oriented nature. After completing her residency in Southern California, she moved to New England and remained until July 2024.
Dr. Harrington enjoys the full spectrum of plastic surgeries and has developed a particular passion for helping breast cancer patients.
A lifelong athlete and competitor, she enjoys Crossfit, trail running and, since the pandemic, competitive cornhole that takes her to tournaments around the country. She comes to Beaufort with her daughter, Sura, and two Australian Shepherds, Calvin and Aria.
