A board-certified physician assistant with many years of urological, emergency and general surgery experience, Nancy Thomas evaluates a variety of urological complaints, interprets diagnostic studies and helps patients understand their results to determine further courses of evaluation and treatment.

Areas of Expertise

• Urinary Incontinence – A loss of bladder control resulting in leakage of urine.
• Kidney Stones– Hard deposits of minerals and salts formed in the kidneys that often cause sharp, cramping pain in the back and side when they move within the kidney or pass into one of the ureters.
• Overactive Bladder – Frequent and sudden urges to urinate, sometimes leading to incontinence.
• Prostate Cancer – Cancer that occurs in the prostate, a small walnut-sized gland in men that produces seminal fluid.
• Bladder Cancer – Cancer that occurs in the cells of the bladder.

Background

Ms. Thomas, who grew up in the Beaufort area, joined Coastal Carolina Urology Group in 2017 and transitioned with the practice when it was acquired by Beaufort Memorial in late 2023. Comparing her time in urology to the four-year stint she had as an emergency medicine physician assistant, she especially relishes the ability to follow patients through treatment and the resolution of their health concerns.

No stranger to Beaufort Memorial, Ms. Thomas worked as a general surgery physician assistant with Beaufort Memorial Surgical Specialists prior to her time in the ER.

The Clemson fan enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and young son and recently began learning how to play pickleball.
