About Ms. Taylor Robinson

“I love talking with my patients and getting to know them on a personal level. Providing education is hugely important, as are empathy, honesty and establishing trust.”

Part of the board-certified team of clinicians at Beaufort Memorial Heart Specialists, Taylor Robinson, MSN, APRN, AGACNP-BC, works with its cardiologists to prevent, diagnose and treat acute and chronic diseases and conditions of the cardiovascular system. She sees patients in both the Beaufort and the Okatie practice locations.

Areas of Expertise

  • Heart Failure – A condition in which the heart does not pump sufficient blood to meet the body’s needs. Sometimes called congestive heart failure.
  • Pre- and Post- Heart Catheterization Care – Care before and after a procedure in which a thin tube is threaded through blood vessels to diagnose and treat conditions like blockages and irregular heartbeat.
  • Atrial Fibrillation – An irregular and often abnormally rapid heartbeat that results in poor blood flow. The condition also increases the risk of stroke, heart failure and other heart-related complications.
  • Hypertension – Elevated blood pressure; a common condition in which the heart has to work harder than normal to pump blood throughout the body. Though it requires treatment, hypertension often has no symptoms.
  • Lifestyle Modification – Changing habits and behaviors, generally related to eating or physical activity levels, as a means of improving overall health and preventing cardiovascular disease.

Background

Ms. Robinson, who was born in Sumter, S.C., but grew up in New Jersey, came to Heart Specialists following three years as a registered nurse on the Beaufort Memorial Hospital Intensive Care Unit. Previously, she served as a hospitalist at Hampton Regional Medical Center in Varnville and as a charge nurse and preceptor on the Beaufort Memorial Hospital Progressive Care Unit.

In May 2023, Ms. Robinson received The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses for her work in spearheading the implementation of the Critical Care Pain Observation Tool (CPOT), which helps determine ICU patients’ level of pain when they are unable to report it themselves and thus custom-tailor their pain management.

Newlyweds, Ms. Robinson and her husband, Adam Kajfez, like hiking and exploring national parks together and spending time with their rescue dog, Cooper. She also enjoys kayaking and is “trying to learn how to cook.”
