Areas of Expertise

  • Hypertension – Elevated blood pressure that can cause the heart to work overtime and pump harder, possibly leading to heart attack, stroke, heart failure or kidney failure.
  • Hyperlipidemia – Also known as high cholesterol, excess levels of unhealthy lipids, or fats, in the blood that can result in heart attack or stroke.
  • Diabetes Management – Helping patients with diabetes—a chronic condition characterized by abnormally high levels of glucose, or sugar, in the blood that affects how the body turns food into energy and can cause damage to the heart, nerves, kidneys or eyes—manage their disease and remain healthy.
  • Weight Loss – A broad treatment plan that typically includes food choices, exercise, behavior changes and medicines designed to address excess weight or obesity.
  • Preventive Care – Checkups, immunizations, tests and screenings used to prevent serious diseases and medical conditions or to detect them before they become major problems.

Background

A familiar face at Beaufort Memorial, Dr. Keisler first came to Beaufort Memorial May River Primary Care in 2019. She left in 2022 to join Piedmont Physicians at Thomas Crossroads Family Medicine in Newnan, Ga., and be closer to family. She returned to Beaufort Memorial in 2023 when the lure of the Lowcountry proved too strong. Earlier, the Ft. Stewart native served as a family medicine specialist at Palmetto Health-USC Medical Group and at two other primary care practices in the Sandhills region.

Describing family medicine as her passion, Dr. Keisler says she was attracted to the specialty because it allows her to see whole families and to follow them through all the stages of their lives.

Dr. Keisler and her husband, Brittain, a banker, have two daughters. In her leisure time, she enjoys board games with her family as well as reading, gardening and riding her bike.
