Taylor Robinson, MSN, APRN, AGACNP-BC

To augment cardiac care for the county’s growing population, Beaufort Memorial has welcomed a board-certified nurse practitioner to Beaufort Memorial Heart Specialists. Working with board-certified cardiologists at the practice to prevent, diagnose and treat acute and chronic diseases of the cardiovascular system, Taylor Robinson, MSN, APRN, AGACNP-BC, sees patients in the Beaufort and the Okatie practice locations and assists with procedures at Beaufort Memorial Hospital’s cardiac catheterization lab.

Robinson, who was born in Sumter, South Carolina, but moved to New Jersey early in life, came to Heart Specialists following three years as a registered nurse on the Beaufort Memorial Hospital Intensive Care Unit, where she provided care to critically ill patients during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Previously, she served as a hospitalist at Hampton Regional Medical Center in Varnville and as a charge nurse and preceptor on the BMH Progressive Care Unit.

In June 2023, Beaufort Memorial awarded Robinson with the The DAISY Award for spearheading the implementation of the Critical Care Pain Observation Tool and training colleagues in its use. CPOT helps determine ICU patients’ level of pain when they are unable to report it themselves and thus better tailor their dosage of pain medication to their individual needs.

Robinson holds a Master of Science in Nursing from University of South Carolina College of Nursing in Columbia with an adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner concentration; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, magna cum laude, from Drexel University in Philadelphia; and a Bachelor of Science in biology, magna cum laude, from Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland.

At Beaufort Memorial Heart Specialists, Robinson joins board-certified interventional cardiologists Drs. Stephen Fedec, David Harshman and Stuart Smalheiser and certified physician assistant Tara Kay. Expert in the treatment of cardiovascular disease, the practice’s clinical team offers interventional cardiac procedures that include angioplasty, percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and implantation of cardioverter defibrillators, pacemakers and stents. Dedicated to patients’ cardiac health, the team works with patients to manage their heart disease risk factors such as hypertension and abnormal cholesterol levels and also provides heart-health education for those with diabetes and other conditions.

The practice has locations at 300 Midtown Drive, Beaufort, and Beaufort Memorial Okatie Medical Pavilion, 122 Okatie Center Blvd. North, Okatie. To make an appointment with Robinson or any Heart Specialists provider, call 843-770-4550.
