Board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology, Dr. David Harshman brings decades of experience to his practice of general and interventional cardiology at Beaufort Memorial Cardiology. He joined the Beaufort Memorial Hospital medical staff in 2010.

Besides interventional cardiology and endovascular therapies, Dr.Harshman's professional interests include the full range of cardiac conditions, heart failure, arrhythmias, angina and hypertension among them.

A pioneer in interventional cardiology since its inception in the U.S. in the early 1980s, he co-chaired the committee that helped Beaufort Memorial win state approval to treat patients suffering ST elevation myocardia infarction, the deadliest type of heart attack.

Dr. Harshman was employed by Roper St. Francis Health Care System in Charleston prior to joining Beaufort Memorial Physician Partners, and earlier was in private practice in Missouri for more than 30 years.

An avid golfer, the Ilinois native and his wife, Mickie, enjoy travel and walks along local shores.
