About Ms. Samantha Bruns
“I offer a gentle, helping hand through the cancer journey; helping patients with healthy coping mechanisms, resources and emotional support to empower them and improve their quality of life.”
A medical oncology social worker, Samantha Bruns, LBSW, helps guide patients and their family members through the emotional aspects of cancer by connecting them with a variety of resources, including counseling and support groups. She also helps, as needed, with other challenges the disease can present by offering resources for transportation needs; navigating the medical leave- and disability-related application processes; and connecting patients to financial resources and community services to help with household financial limitations and food insecurity.
Ms. Bruns has been a medical social worker since 2017, including work as a case manager, emergency department social worker, and most recently as an oncology breast patient navigator.
She enjoys expressing her creativity through music and photography. In addition to writing music, Ms. Bruns plays guitar and piano. She attributes her love of the arts to growing up in a creative family of photographers and musicians.
Having relocated from Fort Wayne, Indiana with her significant other and pit bull, Zella, she enjoys exploring new areas of the Lowcountry with family and friends.
