About Mrs. Kianna Brown
“I strive to be someone who makes others look forward to tomorrow. I lead a life surrounded by love. And hope to share that same positivity and light with everyone around me.”
Kianna Brown has been a medical social worker since 2013 — working as a social worker, social services director, case manager and discharge planner in several settings including, inpatient rehabilitation, a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility and home care provider. After nearly four years of helping develop a pilot program for outpatient geriatrics and palliative care, she decided to follow her heart to the Lowcountry and venture into the world of oncology social work.
Mrs. Brown helps patients find emotional support and learn healthy coping mechanisms. She connects patients and their loved ones to community resources to improve quality of life and reduce stress. She is also an advocate for patients and families, so they stay informed and get their needs met in their homes and in the community.
The disease process of cancer can feel extremely isolating and devastating. Mrs. Brown strives to help every individual recognize the elements of their lives that continue to inspire strength and to show them that they don’t have to go through this process alone.
A self-professed animal lover, she couldn’t imagine life without her Pomeranian and tabby cat. You may even see her riding her pink cruiser bike accompanied by her Pomeranian in the basket.
Mrs. Brown enjoys any arts and crafts that involve a little creativity and, most importantly, glitter. She also likes to spend time trying new things and exploring the Lowcountry with friends and family.
