About Dr. Julian Levin
“I always encourage my patients to be partners in their health care, with shared decision-making when treatment is needed. I am a huge fan of a team approach to care, including physical therapy, nutritional medicine, mental health services and alternative/complementary medicine options. In occupational medicine, my focus is to treat an injury with every resource available in the expectation that my patient will return to full function and work if at all possible.”
Board certified in both family medicine and occupational medicine, Dr. Julian Levin brings widely ranging, in-depth experience to Beaufort Memorial Express Care & Occupational Health. An Air Force veteran, Dr. Levin comes to the Beaufort clinic from Charleston Air Force Base, where for 11 years he provided care to flyers and special operational members and their families as well as occupational medicine services on the base and at the Alcoa Aluminum facility in Goose Creek.
Among his professional interests are health promotion and preventive care.
Born and brought up in Beaufort, Dr. Levin retired from the USAF Medical Corps after a 24-year career that included high-level clinical and administrative positions in the U.S. and abroad. Over the course of his career, he has both provided and overseen provision of a full range of medical care to active-duty military personnel and retirees and their families.
He is a veteran of both Iraq wars and attained the Air Force’s chief flight surgeon rating, logging more than 1,000 hours in aircraft of various types.
Dr. Levin and his wife, Teri, a nurse, have two grown children. In his leisure time he enjoys anything on the water, including sailing, fishing, kayaking and paddleboarding, as well as hiking in the mountains.
