Occupational Therapy Services

Beaufort Memorial’s occupational therapists will work with you to improve your ability to perform daily activities and restore your independence. We use the latest technologies and have an on-site certified SaeboFlex/FTM splint fitter, which allows those suffering from neurologic impairments, such as stroke, to incorporate their arm and hand functionality in therapy and at home. Our focus is always on evidence-based practices for the most basic to complex issues.

Specialized occupational therapy services include:

  • Breast cancer rehabilitation: Overcome difficulties performing everyday tasks caused by reduced arm strength.
  • Cognitive therapy: Learn how to improve or compensate for decreased memory or attention when trying to complete everyday tasks and activities.
  • Hand therapy: Increase your strength and coordination, which may include splinting to prevent deformities or stabilize movements.
  • Pelvic floor therapy: Exercises and techniques focused on the function of pelvic floor muscles to improve conditions including urinary leakage, bowel incontinence, sexual dysfunction, pelvic pain and pelvic organ prolapse.
  • Vision therapy: Eye exercises and adjustments to living spaces to help patients continue living independently and/or return to work.
