Jessie Goethie, DNP, APRN, FNP-C to Join Beaufort Memorial Direct Primary Care
July 10, 2024To provide affordable primary care coverage that local employers can include in their employee benefits, Beaufort Memorial Direct Primary Care is opening membership to all local businesses and adding board-certified nurse practitioner Jessie P. Goethie in July. Direct Primary Care is a tiered membership program that businesses can offer to employees as an alternative or in addition to other health insurance plans.
“We are very excited to have Jessie join us to manage this critical program,” said Angie Barber, Beaufort Memorial Practice Operations Administrator. “Direct Primary Care provides local employers with the ability to provide preventative health care services to their employees in a uniquely affordable manner. By becoming members, employers and employees both can feel confident that they'll have an excellent health care provider in Jessie dedicated to their primary care needs.”
A passionate patient advocate, Goethie, who holds a doctorate in nursing sciences, brings a high level of expertise in diagnosing and treating acute and chronic illnesses in adult patients. She has served as a nurse practitioner with Beaufort Jasper Hampton Comprehensive Health since 2018, gaining ample clinical experience in treating an array of conditions, including diabetes, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, anxiety disorders, endocrine system disorders, metabolic syndrome, weight management, and more.
Goethie has been a part of the BMH family her entire life. She was born at BMH and volunteered here in high school. After college, she began her nursing career as a medical-surgical registered nurse at BMH in 2009. She then worked for six years as a registered nurse in the emergency department at BMH, assessing and treating critical care patients of all ages and conditions.
“I like to get to know my patients and their health patterns so we can work together on a feasible game plan,” said Goethie. “Collaboration and health education help patients enhance their health.”
She earned her doctorate from Frontier Nursing University in Lexington, Kentucky. She has also earned a post-master's certificate in family nurse practitionership from the University of Massachusetts, a Master of Science in Nursing, Adult-Gerontology Primary Care from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of South Carolina.
Businesses can take advantage of Direct Primary Care, in addition to the Well at Work occupational health program, by paying a low, monthly fee for each employee who selects DPC membership. Employee members receive care for short-term illnesses, assistance for long-term (chronic) conditions, and basic preventive care to maintain good health. The practice is located alongside Beaufort Memorial Express Care & Occupational Health at 1680 Ribaut Road, Suite A, in Port Royal.
