Celebrating more than 2,500 years of service

Over 220 employees with more than 2,500 combined years of serving the community through their work at Beaufort Memorial were honored at our annual Employee Service Awards reception in October.
Coworkers, friends and families joined together at the Port Royal Sound Foundation Pavilion in Okatie last month for a night of smiles, laughter and celebration.
We’ve got a lot to celebrate here at Beaufort Memorial: this year’s batch of honorees included employees ringing in five, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 and even 45 years of service at the organization. It’s a level of loyalty and commitment that isn’t seen everywhere, said President and CEO Russell Baxley.
“We work in a unique and very difficult industry,” he said as he addressed reception attendees last month. “Commitment to this industry shows passion, dedication and perseverance.”
In total, the honorees for 2024 shared a whopping 2,545 years of service to the community with Beaufort Memorial. The organization honored 95 employees for five years of service, 67 employees for 10 years, 19 employees for 15 years, 23 employees for 20 years, 15 for 25 years, four for 30 years and two each for 35 and 45 years.

The two employees celebrating 45 years in 2024 are cardiopulmonary assistant Kathleen Jolly and Vice President of Patient Care Karen Carroll, DNP, RN, NEA-BC.
Baxley lauded this year’s honorees for their commitment to the community and Beaufort Memorial’s greater mission of compassionate, innovative care.
“You guys do it with grace, you do it with honor and you do it with kindness,” he said. “I appreciate that, the patients appreciate that, and the community appreciates that.”
