Beaufort Memorial to Establish New Bluffton Primary Care Practice

To provide greater access to primary care in the Bluffton area, Beaufort Memorial will establish a new primary care practice in Bluffton on May 20. Marshview Primary Care will be led by Christopher Opella, M.D., a board-certified physician with broad experience across the spectrum of family medicine, within the hospital’s May River Medical Pavilion at 1 Burnt Church Road.

Dr. Opella joined Beaufort Memorial May River Primary Care at the Okatie Medical Pavilion in Okatie in April 2022. He previously practiced as a clinician and a medical director at family medicine clinics and hospital emergency rooms in his native state of Texas for more than two decades. He brings extensive knowledge of a number of medical specialties to patient care, including cardiology, gastroenterology, gynecology, orthopedics, dermatology and emergency medicine.

Dr. Opella will continue to offer virtual visits for patients needing medication checks, standard chronic illness management, sick visits and follow up care for certain conditions.
