The Beaufort Memorial LifeFit Wellness Center is an evidence-based, medical fitness facility. How is that different from other gyms?
More Than Fitness — Wellness
Being a medical fitness center, the programs you find at LifeFit are designed to benefit your broader wellness. Our purpose isn't just to help clients lose weight or gain muscle. We're here to help you manage your health. That's why you'll find programs for cancer recovery, Parkinson's disease management and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation.
Programs Based on Science
Medical fitness centers are evidence-based, and like Lifefit, are often integrated with a healthcare facility. An evidence-based program is one that uses practices that have been rigorously evaluated in scientific research and shown to make a positive, statistically significant difference in meaningful outcomes.
Extensive Staff Training
Clients at LifeFit are overseen by medically-trained professionals as they work toward their fitness goals, and can help ensure that their clients are meeting those goals in a safe and effective manner. LifeFit Wellness Center's staff includes: exercise physiologists, a cardiac nurse, health educators, registered dietitians, and is overseen by a medical director.
Beaufort Memorial's Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation program is also housed at LifeFit. This allows for greater medical oversight and integration of services across the continuum of care.
A Connection to Physical Rehabilitation
Another benefit of LifeFit is the shared space with Beaufort Memorial's Outpatient Rehabilitation department. This synergistic alliance allows our members an easy transition between physical, occupational, and/or speech therapy and LifeFit Wellness Services.
