Beaufort Memorial
Emergency & Urgent Care
Hilton Head Island
Groundbreaking Spring 2025
1016 WILLIAM HILTON PARKWAY, HILTON HEAD ISLAND
Beaufort Memorial Emergency and Urgent Care will be located at 1016 William Hilton Parkway on the South end of Hilton Head Island.
The facility that currently sits on the property will be demolished and a new building will be constructed.
Why Combine an Emergency Room and Urgent Care?
A hybrid facility like this one is an innovative solution to expanding both emergency and urgent care on Hilton Head Island, as well as making that care more convenient for patients.
A hybrid facility eliminates a patient's need to choose whether they need emergency or urgent care, and offers more efficient door-to-door times with no wait.
Services
Beaufort Memorial Emergency and Urgent Care will offer emergency care for a wide range of life- or limb-threatening illnesses and injuries, in addition to urgent care for less serious conditions that require immediate attention.
Each patient will be assessed upon intake and only billed for the level of care that is required to adequately address their condition. Any patients requiring an overnight stay will be stabilized and then transported to a hospital with inpatient capacity.
Proposed Architectural Rendering
"How will walk-in patients be prioritized?"
Upon arrival, each patient is evaluated by a board-certified emergency physician, who determines the appropriate level of care required. This seamless triage process ensures that patients receive precisely the care they need, whether urgent or emergent.
The facility's unique billing model charges patients only for the specific services rendered. This approach not only potentially reduces out-of-pocket expenses but also saves valuable time and alleviates the stress of choosing between ER and urgent care.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
The facility will be staffed with emergency-trained physicians and nurses and will be fully equipped like a traditional hospital emergency department.
Emergency medical services can bring patients directly to the hybrid facility on Hilton Head Island, which will accommodate ambulances on-site.
Groundbreaking is expected to take place Spring 2025.
The project has a 12-14 month build timeline, with an anticipated opening in Fall 2026.
